
Non-Immigrant Visa
Temporary Residents (Non-Immigrant Visa)
This type of visa is issued to foreigners who wish to enter the Kingdom for one of the following purposes:
- Performing government duties (F)
- Engaging in business and work (B)
- Investments approved by relevant ministries (IM)
- Investments or other activities under the Investment Promotion Act (IB)
- Education, observation, and various training programs (ED)
- Media functions (M)
- Religious activities approved by the Department of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Education (R)
- Scientific research or teaching at research institutions or educational institutions in the Kingdom (RS)
- Skilled craftsmanship (EX)
- Other purposes (O)
- Residing in the Kingdom during retirement.
- Entering as a litigant or witness for legal proceedings.
- Undertaking family duties for a foreign national who is temporarily entering the Kingdom to perform diplomatic, consular, or other missions, where the applicant is a parent, spouse, or child who is dependent and part of that household.
- Serving as personal staff who travel from abroad to work regularly at the residence of a diplomatic representative or individuals with equivalent privileges as those holding diplomatic positions, according to agreements made between the Thai government and foreign governments or international organizations.
- Providing or receiving sponsorship from Thai nationals or residents as a parent, spouse, or child who is dependent and part of the household of the individual.
- Providing services to state enterprises or public charitable organizations.
- Entry into the Kingdom by individuals who were formerly Thai nationals to visit relatives or request re-entry.
- Entering the Kingdom for medical treatment.
- Entering the Kingdom as a sports trainer as required by government authorities.
Visa Validity:
- 3 months (Single Entries)
- 12 months (Multiple Entries)
Duration of Stay in the Kingdom:
- 90 days per entry
Documents Required for Consideration:
- A passport or substitute document with a validity of at least 6 months.
- A completed visa application form.
- Two passport-sized photographs (2 ½ inches, taken within the last 6 months, without a hat or sunglasses).
For (O) Entry as a Household Member or Dependent:
- Evidence of relationship such as parental documents, birth certificate, or marriage certificate.
- Employment certification and a valid work permit for individuals working in Thailand.
- Proof that the spouse is a Thai national or a resident of the Kingdom.
- Financial status evidence.
- A letter from an embassy, consulate, international organization, or state enterprise, depending on the circumstance.
For (O) Entry for Medical Treatment:
- An acceptance letter from a medical facility accredited by the relevant government agency in Thailand.
For (O) Entry as a Litigant or Witness in Court:
- A letter or summons from a Thai court.
For (O) Entry to Reside as a Senior:
- The applicant must be at least 50 years old and indicate the intent to live in the Kingdom as a senior or retiree, without any intention to work during their stay in Thailand.

For (ED) Students:
- An acceptance letter from the educational institution.
For (ED) Monks studying Buddhism:
- A permission letter from the National Office of Buddhism.
For (F) Government Duties or State Enterprise Work:
- A letter from the embassy/consulate, international organization, state enterprise, or relevant government agency, depending on the case.
For (B) Employment:
- A letter from the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labor, notifying the approval for a foreign national to work in the company.
For (B) Business Contact:
- A certificate of employment from the company where the applicant is employed, including the purpose of travel to Thailand, and the name of the company or agency they will be contacting.
- Evidence of the applicant’s financial status or business activities (if not currently employed by a company or organization).
- Documentation showing financial status or a project to be conducted in Thailand (if the intention is to operate a business in Thailand).
- An invitation letter from a company in Thailand for the applicant to travel to Thailand for business contact (must include company documents such as the company registration certificate, corporate affidavit or partnership registration, certificate of registration from the Ministry of Commerce, shareholder list, factory operating license (if applicable), value-added tax registration certificate, most recent financial statements, etc.).
- If the applicant claims to be a consultant for the company, a copy of the company’s appointment letter must also be submitted.
For (B) Teachers/Lecturers in Private Educational Institutions:
- A letter of acceptance for employment from the educational institution.
- Evidence of educational qualifications.
- A certificate confirming no criminal record.
- The amount of cash refers to the amount of money that a foreign national must possess while traveling into the Kingdom. They must have cash or documents that can be used or exchanged for an equivalent value in Thai currency that meets the specified requirement.
